Sometimes I Wonder

As a writer, I find I am faced with all kinds of strange and odd ideas that keep niggling away in the back of my mind until they explode out into something that I can't control and have to get rid of before it drives me insane.

Case in point with my latest fic, a very strange mystery/adventure fic set in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I wish I knew where this mad idea came from but it's out now and running wild. My muses selected 35 unfortunate clones from all across the GAR and made them just six inches tall. Started at 33 then up came the idea of adding a couple of extras to make things just that little bit more interesting.

I really wish I knew what my mind was smoking when it came up with this idea but I can't seem to shake it, the mini clones are on the rampage and everything is about to get completely turned upside down. Hold on folks, this could be a very interesting ride.

Here's a question for all the Clone Wars fans out there. I'm currently working on a piece of fan fiction for the series and I've come up with two endings but I'm not sure which way I should go for the final online edition and which should be added as the alternate ending. I'd very much love to know what you all think of both the idea and which way I should turn.

Basically I've shrunk a random selection of clones down to only six inches tall and they're trying to work out what happened. Along the way, via allies throughout the galaxy, two mostly forgotten clones end up joining the shrunken group - Cut Lawquane & Gregor. Gregor's presence isn't an issue, I've already got his plot arc locked down. My two endings diverge because of Cut's presence in the group.

Option A: Cut returns to normal size and slips away from the rest of the affected group before the Jedi or anyone else that didn't know from the start can discover his presence and story. This allows the story to focus more on Gregor's return to the GAR.

Option B: Cut's presence is discovered before he can make his escape but after his return to normal size. His capture leads to a lot of questions from the Jedi and Rex is forced to admit that he knew about Cut long before any of this shrinking misadventure. This takes the story into a darker area, looking at what happens to Cut's family, Rex's punishment and what might be the penalty for the rest of the affected clones since they also knew about him.
